Siete Foods sells out, changes ingredients

Siete Family Foods has been acquired by PepsiCo. Now, their ingredients list is starting to change.

The latest changes aren’t bad, generally speaking, but these changes are worth watching. Ingredient-conscious consumers, and skeptics of corporate consolidation of our food supply, are bound to be at the edge of their seats as this formerly small-scale producer is reformulated under new ownership.

What ingredient lists have changed?

Siete Grain Free Almond Flour Tortillas, original ingredients list:

Almond flour, tapioca starch, water, sea salt, xanthan gum

Siete Grain Free Almond Flour Tortillas, spotted at Costco with a new ingredients list:

Almond flour, tapioca starch, water, sea salt, xanthan gum, apple cider vinegar, berry extract (to preserve freshness), oregano extract (to preserve freshness), flaxseed extract (to preserve freshness)

TBD, saving these for later…

Siete Grain-free Lime, original ingredients:

Cassava blend (cassava flour, cassava starch), avocado oil, coconut flour, chia seed, sea salt, citric acid, lime oil

Siete Grain-free Sea Salt, original ingredients:

Cassava blend (cassava flour, cassava starch), avocado oil, coconut flour, chia seeds, sea salt
